Where to use - Urban Lighting
Multi-storey car-parks
Good vertical lighting will ensure good high visibility of vehicles and pedestrians and improve the feeling of safety, especially for approach roads, entrances and exits. Supplementary lighting should be installed in the access and exit zones of the car park and also on ramps, corners and intersections for additional guidance.
Luminaires in the driver’s line of sight should be arranged to prevent glare or distracting visual effects. Emergency lighting will be required to allow the safe evacuation of pedestrians in the event of an emergency.
All lighting equipment should be vandal-resistant. Good quality fluorescent luminaires will provide good uniformity and levels of vertical lighting combined with low luminaire brightness to prevent glare issues.
